Bathiya and Santhush, often known as BnS, is a Sri Lankan musical duo formed by Bathiya Jayakody and Santhush Weeraman in the late 1990s. Emerging from Colombo, the pair became pioneers of a modern sound that fused traditional Sri Lankan rhythms, particularly baila, with pop, dance, and hip-hop influences. Their fresh, upbeat production style and catchy melodies helped redefine contemporary Sri Lankan popular music for a new generation.
BnS are widely credited with revitalizing the local music industry through high-energy live shows and slickly produced studio albums. They gained a large following both in Sri Lanka and among the Sri Lankan diaspora, and became known for staging large-scale concert tours that brought Sri Lankan pop music to international audiences. Their work helped inspire a wave of younger artists blending local and global sounds.
